Review and Swatches : Viva Liquid Foundation #Natural

Viva Indonesian Brand cosmetics!

That term really suits the name, under estimated at first, but WOW-ed by the result.

So i was lucky, last month i was send a beautiful package from Viva Cosmetics, i registered and forgot about it but one random day, there they were. I'm so terribly sorry i didn't take any pictures, but i got several items. Compact powder, liquid foundation, lipstick, hand and body lotion, eyeshadow also a make up remover.  Oh yes, almost forgot, they also include a booklet, lots of tips there.YEAY... Thank You Viva...

So i was wearing this for few times, outdoor, indoor then finally can share it with you girls.

Viva Liquid Foundation with Bengkuang Extract shade Natual
Swatch

FOTD (lotsa picture :p)

with flash
Both FOTD was taken on different day but pretty much same products used.

Face : Viva Liquid Foundation, Sari Ayu Loose Powder in Sawo Matang (on cheek and nose and forehead only)
Cheek : LT Pro Blush on #8
Eyes : Pixy (both liquid and pencil eyeliner in #Black), Sari Ayu Eyeshadow Palette (25th Anniversary), Maybelline VE Mascara, Revlon Wet and Dry eyeshadow quad #chocolate for eyebrow (and contour nose).
Lips : Revlon Lip butter # 1

Review

PLUS SIDE ^^
  • PRICE : OMG I believe this is less than $1 for 30 ml tube
  • Lots of shade
Shade : Oche, Natural, Mangir, Kuning Pengantin, Kuning Langsat
  • Best ingredients that i like : Mineral Oil, they claim it also have emolient and moisturizer to soften and moisture the skin.
Ingredients : Bengkuang Extract, Methyl Paraben, Mineral Oil, Stearic Acid, Adeps Lanae, Vaselin Album, Cetyl Alcohol, Propyl Paraben,Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Thriethanolamine, Bentonite, Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Propylene Glycol, Talc, Titanium Dioxide, Cl 77492, Cl77491, Perfume, Aqua.
  • Texture : Not to thin, quite rich in texture. But glides easily on skin when applied.

DISLIKE :
  • Scent : too perfume-y, seriously smells like hand and body lotion!
  • Coverage : Not buildable, gives sheer to light finish, not covering any of flaws, just like a tinted moisturizer
  • Hard to blend : Best when applied with brush, with sponge it just dissapear on your sponges, with hand too time consuming.
  • Staying Power : Not too bad, you have to forgive this especially looking at the price, after 3 hours get oily on nose area but not too much.
  • Oxydized a  bit after 4-6 hours usage.
I'm not gonna complain about the plastic tube packaging, they just charge it less than one bucks, come on people LOL.

Honestly, i think our local brand is sometimes being under estimated.

Well, from everything that Viva sent me, i just don't use the eyeshadow. It didn't bring any good, less pigmented, powdery. The rest is doing just fine, i will do a review about the lipstick soon i think.
Thank you for staying with me ladies, what do you think about my FOTD, this foundation bring any good to me? Anyone ever use this before? Would love to hear your thought.

Oh yes, for you that lives abroad, the must have items from this brand is the Eyebrow Pencil, the texture is smooth. Comes in brown and black. Some of well known MUA in Indonesia even use this and can't live without it. I personally love the texture of the eyebrow pencil but the color didn't match my eyes and my hair (dark brown on eyes and very very black for hair).

My Beloved Make Up Now and Then

I've been raving a lot about my beloved Inez eyeshadow and wearing a lot of Amuse blush palette on my FOTD.

Now they look like this, some almost hit pan. And the Amuse was fall twice and cracked, but i fix that with alcohol, and they look ugly, but the pigmentation is not changing. Love it!

Vienna - Venice - Pattaya
I seriously want Inez Palette, quite forgot about it for several month, but yesterday when at Kelas Dandan, i was using Sephora Color Play - 5 in 1 Palette and blah... not loving it.
Why? Chalky, and not pigmented! Even with my beloved Aubeau eyeshadow base. It faded after 4 hours application. But to be fair, it did a good job for them that has NC 20-30 skin tone. Not for me, my lid didn't appreciate them much LOL...

PS : Inez Palette cost not more for $50 (approx IDR 450k).
Consist of : 12 lipstick, 2 concealer, 20 eyeshadow, 6 blush on, 5 face powder.

Cheap Highlighter (Local Brand)

Hallow Ladies, today is seriously a BAD day. You guys know how i hate rain rite? And it was raining so hard, untill theres floods everywhere on the road. Bad news for me, i couldn't go home and have to wait like 4 hours. And i took a cab home, and the driver wouldn't take me, because of the traffic. So i had to go back and find another cab. CRAP, i was wet from top to toe. And yes, i brought my umbrella but still wet. Sucks..

Anyway... to highlight my day? :)  I did promise my fellow FD friend to review on this powder. It is actually a basic translucent powder but the 'look' inside not the packaging is similar to NYX Mosaic Pwder Highlighter (link courtesy of MakeupAlley).

Here's the look... sorry for bad quality picture..
The Brand is RedA, it's a local brand, actually this brand is dedicated for teenager, because of the product is small and the rest of decorative product comes in a very cheap price. I got this powder for IDR 18.700 (approx. $2), and has a tinyyyyy tiny bit of shimmer IMO, but not much. And you barely can noticed that, which i love about this.

RedA compact powder shade Translucent

Ingredients :

Talc., Zinc Stearat, CI 77019, Aluminium Starch, and very sorry the rest of ingredients i wouldn't be able to read them becaue they printed the MFG date and code right on the top of them. (Already throw away the boxes also, my bad)

Love :

The shimmer is not too much. Netto 14g (quite ok). Almost scent-less (just a hint). Price was cheap. Available locally. Staying power buildable but i have to say medium. Love the color of the compact pink :D

Hate :

It would be perfect if there's no shimmer at all (i hate shimmery thingy, but this one is quite ok). If you have oily face then this would be a problem, because shimmer and oily face is not a match, you will look extra glowy if you didn't use any setting powder or matte powder, me thinks.

Repurchase :  Absolutely :)

I will insert my FOTD using this highlighter, and i didn't take the swatch yet. Because there's gonna a different post about this. I'm planning to compare this with Benefit High Beam, whose gonna win the battle, let's see together.

Face : Fanbo TWC in Gaharu apply dry and (light) dab motion only, Red A translucent on my nose bridge, under my eyes (you know i have heavy panda eyes right, it didn't make it go away but it surely lighten the under eye area), a bit on my temple of the cheek and upper cheek bone.
Cheek : NYC bronzer
Eyes : Pixy liquid eyeliner and Maybelline mascara, Lyra eyebrow pencil
Lips : None!

It gives a sheer and light coverage, but you can always built up the coverage, i'm not going anywhere just hanging out at my friend's apartment so i didn't bother to do a heavier coverage.

Eyebrow Story - My favourite

Did you ever get pissed because you have to redo you eyebrow after few hours of using?
Just because you have bang, sometimes the bang swipe away your eyebrow and make it look un-even.
I get that, a lot! While i was using my Viva Eyebrow Pencil. I did use Viva for several years tho'. Don't get me wrong, i love the texture. It is easy to draw, the texture is so soft wont't hurt your skin, and it is so easy to blend.Well you can always get more coverage with adding matching color of eyeshadow after Viva to make it more last, but too much work. I like to get my eyebrow done, quick and easy. Also with Viva the color is a bit orange-y and red-dish so it didn't match my black eyebrow.

After searching ang lots of watching, i came up with this 4 Eyebrow Pencil that was my favourite. Guess what? It's still afordable, remember you don't have to spend lots of money for decorative product to save up :)

Here is the champion, ladies.
L : With flash R : Without Flash

From L to R, Inez eyebrown pencil in dark brown approx $3 (IDR 23.000), NYX eyebrow pencil -  chocolate (price may vary in different shop), Lyra Eyebrow Pencil in brown approx $1 (IDR 8.000), Lyra Eyebrow Pencil in Black aprox. $1 (IDR 8.000)

The swatches

With Flash
No Flash

Texture :

Inez : The hardest one, it's quite difficult to draw with, you have to keep it sharp to make it easier
NYX : Creamy and so easy to draw with, but sometimes it's tricky, it make a thick line, and you have to carefully draw it with thin strokes
Lyra : My favourite, texture so smooth and easy to draw with

Blendable :

Inez : Easy
NYX : Easy
Lyra : Easy

Endurance :

They pretty much the same, from morning till night, i never touch up my eyebrow while using them

The only problem with them are the color, because i have a black hair and black eyebrow, sometimes if i put them on light strokes the color didn't match. But with practise, they end up fine.

What's your favourite eyebrow pencil, ladies?

Really Beauty on Budget

For the money savers out there.

I got the question a lot, how to do make up with less budget. And i really need to practice again after 3 month didn't do any make up at all on me either on someone else. I decided to do this post, anyway my friends already remind me about my absence on blogging so here you go...

The tips that i got from my own experience that i hope can help you guys figure it out.
  1. Know your skin type and choose the right skin care, make up is easier to applied on healthy skin
  2. Choose carefully for the foundation and match the shade with your skin tone
  3. Choose the decorative products on neutral color, and add some bright color to your collection. ex : you can get a nice neutral brown eyeshadow quad and can get some pink, blue or black eyeshadow to add in your collection. You can experiment on the color, but neutral always is the best choice
  4. Get yourself a good primer for face and primer for eyes.
  5. And remember less is more, you don't have to put on everything on your face while doing make up, if you go bold on eyes make sure you make everything else is light.
I got 2 models, meet Melinda and Melan. Melinda asked for make up that Korean and Japanese looks like and Melan asked for more lady rocker look but not too gothic. Both asked for easy 15 minutes make up (of course budgeted).

Sari ayu 25th year Eyeshadow Palette
Marcks loose powder in creme
Revlon shine control
Inez liquid foundies
Pixy liquid eyeliner (black)
Red A lipstick (nude)
Evanysenses waterproof mascara
ELF eyelash curler
Some random brushes (Majelier and Masami Shouko)

Didn't read any blush on and eyebrow pencil? Yes, i didn't use any. I used the lipstick and applied it like i applied cream blush, with finger and blend it. For the eye brow i use dark chocolate eye shadow and brush to applied them.

Melinda

Melan

Only false lashes that missing in both of this look i think. If use false lashes the eyes will pop out.

How I Remove My Make Up - Travelling

Hey ladies, i noticed there are new followers. Welcome and stay FANTABULOUS, will check and follow you back.. And thank you for following my blog, can't wait to read your thoughts.

Btw, i did a post about How I Remove My Make Up - Daily Basis and since i'm a lazy person :p i got several way to clean my face, this post is gonna about how i remove my make up when i'm travelling.

Usually, I packed a lot of things. Make up remover, organizer to keep my facial cotton clean (i prefer cotton to tissues) which is heavy. And currently i switch to easier way, make up remover in tissues. on budget situation Neutrogena had it, and lots of beauty guru used it and loved it not to mention there's several high end brand like MAC and so on *sigh*. But since i lived in Indonesia, and kinda hard to get it (unless you got someone buy it for u when they're going abroad - custom purchased ; or ordered it online- which took forever to arrived plus the shipping cost BLAH..) and i searched for easier and cheaper method. Beauty on Budget!!!

After read reviews and did some survey on local hypermarket, i finally made a decision to Mitu.
First Mitu only has finesse which has cucumber, aloe vera, and chammomile extract to purifies skin, it has 10 sheets. Second is SHIKADA, it's the sister of finesse and currently launched, ingredients is the same but extra sheets (30 sheets).

Ingredients (both are the same)
Purified water, Glyserine, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Aloe Vera extract, Cucumber extract, Chammomile extract, Ethyl alcohol, DL panthenol, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl paraben, Ethyl paraben, Propyl paraben, Disodium EDTA.

It claims that :
  • gently cleanses
  • refreshes
  • removes make-up, even waterproof mascara
For normal to oily skin.

Love :
Easy breezy, just take one towelette and i usually used one side for overall face, and the other side is for eye make up ( the picture is for swatches only) so it made you not wasting on several towelettes while cleansing.
Available Locally and CHEAP - i found mine at Carrefour, for IDR 3.345 / approx $4 approx. $ 0.39 (finesse) and IDR 8.765 / approx. $9 approx. $1.04 (SHIKADA)
( thank you Mrs. Reza Boer for the correction *smooch* )
Not contain oily material (not like other cleansing wipes, i prefer it this way)
Compact size, you can simply put it inside your clutch bag :D

Hate :
The flip is a bit annoying, if you don't close it well it may drying your towelettes faster than you thought.
After used, yes i feel refresh but it STINGS a bit, which is not happening if i used my ALMAY eye makeup remover.
Too perfumey for my taste, but nothing offensive tho'
Have to work extra hard to remove my Maybelline waterproof mascara, but other mascara is doing just fine.

Repurchase :
Oh so YES darling :D

Hope you find this post informative and helpful. Looking forward to exchange tips from you ladies, on how you remove your make ups while travelling.

Inez Satin Smooth Liquid Foundation Swatch and Review (shade beige)

This is a long postponed post, answering my fellow blogger request.. Here it is ladies, hope your curiosity will slow down a bit, but don't blame me if you immediately want to grab it hahaha...

I got three shade of them, and what matches me most is their darker shade which is beige. Kinda funny how they named their foundation, not really match with other's brand. Beige 10 is the darker shade, Ivory 09 is quite light yellowish tone, Natural 01 is more darker than ivory but the tone a bit pinkish. I would say, this is quite a nice foundation due to it's price less than $4 (approx IDR 30.000- IDR 40.000 depends on where you get it, it's cheaper on cosmetic store than on counter).

I used this several times already and did like the result, wear it on humid weather like when i was in Jakarta, wear it on Air Conditioned room, and outdoor, so far they're not dissapoint me at all. But for you that have oily skin, better used primer before.

Swatches outdoor with no flash, captured with Canon iXus 150 with AWB, Macro, No Flash setting.

Pro's
Cheap
Available Locally
Staying power depends on your skin (on combination skin did well, oily skin use primer)
Easy to blend
Texture is nice not too thick but not too watery
Coverage medium to full

Con's
Only got three shade (but i mixed it sometimes, to get a nice shade for clients and it worked well)
HATE the packaging

FOTD - Inspired by...

Like i said on this post i'm gonna copy JEssica Harlow FOTD from her video - Sexy Shamrock. I think she look super PRETTY in the video, well.. since i'm a HUGE fan of greeney lately (still :D) and i didn't copy all tho' doing my own version.
Because i'm not sure if i will look good on black cut crease like she did on her video. I'm still learning about this cut crease thingy.
Anyway, here's my -not too- sexy look hahaha...

I used dark green instead of black to my crease and blend it above. Well.. it's too many FOTD using green already, let just stop on this one, shall we? Continue-ing to my neutral color i think :D

Kinda forget but i kinda use this stuff that day..

Face
Inez Satin Smooth foundation in Beige
Revlon L/P in Light

Inez loose e/s in green
88 shimmer palette - no brand in dark green
SA duo eyeliner and mascara
T217 falsies cut in half and in outer corner only
Inez eyebrow pencil in Dark chocolate

Short Review on Biore 2 in 1 Cleansing Wash and The Other Function Of It

This is a new range of cleanser of this brand that currently invaded in local drugstore and groceries, for you ladies that lives abroad probably you are won't find this stuff interesting. But here in Indonesia, we got very severe skincare and make up brands, so this is a very exciting thing to post. Sadly i forgot how much i get this product, because it bought it with other stuff also. But it was probably around IDR 25-35 k.

Already lots of reviews that claim this is a good product to rinse off your make up and clean your face in one step, i'm not gonna review this product for it real function this time. And i found it more interesting if i did a full review of it as "my new routine of cleansing my brushes". My usual routine on cleansing brushes, you can read it here

How did i end up with that idea, is when i was so in a rush and my foundation brush was dirty and i couldn't find my HG brush cleanser from Make Up Tool, and my eyes caught this product sitting nicely on my vanity drawer, i grab it and rinse my foundation brush with this. Well... well.. it gives a nice result, so i decided to share it with you ladies. I really hope you will find this tips helpful.

My current favourite brushes is on the way to getting a bath
Put about one tea spoon of this Biore 2 in 1 Cleansing Wash on each side of the transparent box -which was originally my snack :D-
Cleanse my brush on one side and rinse it with the other side of water, this is why i love this transparent box, i can clean and rinse my brushes on 2 in 1 way also.
sorry for the pic :D
I did this step repeatedly with all of the brushes, the separated water make sure i clean it and rinse off the excess of the dirt that may still there.

Can see the difference? Before and after and the second rinsing.
After cleansing and rinse all of the brushes, i refill the transparent box with distilled water again and do the final rinse. If there's no stain left then the brushes is good and ready for drying.
I really love this new way of cleaning my brushes, because it removes the dirt and the oil, some foundation give excess more sometimes it comes sort of oily. I might continue doing this, and will do other review on this cleanser as a face cleanser, wait it up dear ladies.

And thank you for keep reading. Love you a lot ^^
