Review and Swatches : Viva Liquid Foundation #Natural

Viva Indonesian Brand cosmetics!

That term really suits the name, under estimated at first, but WOW-ed by the result.

So i was lucky, last month i was send a beautiful package from Viva Cosmetics, i registered and forgot about it but one random day, there they were. I'm so terribly sorry i didn't take any pictures, but i got several items. Compact powder, liquid foundation, lipstick, hand and body lotion, eyeshadow also a make up remover.  Oh yes, almost forgot, they also include a booklet, lots of tips there.YEAY... Thank You Viva...

So i was wearing this for few times, outdoor, indoor then finally can share it with you girls.

Review

PLUS SIDE ^^
  • PRICE : OMG I believe this is less than $1 for 30 ml tube
  • Lots of shade
Shade : Oche, Natural, Mangir, Kuning Pengantin, Kuning Langsat
  • Best ingredients that i like : Mineral Oil, they claim it also have emolient and moisturizer to soften and moisture the skin.
Ingredients : Bengkuang Extract, Methyl Paraben, Mineral Oil, Stearic Acid, Adeps Lanae, Vaselin Album, Cetyl Alcohol, Propyl Paraben,Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Thriethanolamine, Bentonite, Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Propylene Glycol, Talc, Titanium Dioxide, Cl 77492, Cl77491, Perfume, Aqua.
  • Texture : Not to thin, quite rich in texture. But glides easily on skin when applied.

DISLIKE :
  • Scent : too perfume-y, seriously smells like hand and body lotion!
  • Coverage : Not buildable, gives sheer to light finish, not covering any of flaws, just like a tinted moisturizer
  • Hard to blend : Best when applied with brush, with sponge it just dissapear on your sponges, with hand too time consuming.
  • Staying Power : Not too bad, you have to forgive this especially looking at the price, after 3 hours get oily on nose area but not too much.
  • Oxydized a  bit after 4-6 hours usage.
I'm not gonna complain about the plastic tube packaging, they just charge it less than one bucks, come on people LOL.

Honestly, i think our local brand is sometimes being under estimated.

Well, from everything that Viva sent me, i just don't use the eyeshadow. It didn't bring any good, less pigmented, powdery. The rest is doing just fine, i will do a review about the lipstick soon i think.
Thank you for staying with me ladies, what do you think about my FOTD, this foundation bring any good to me? Anyone ever use this before? Would love to hear your thought.

Oh yes, for you that lives abroad, the must have items from this brand is the Eyebrow Pencil, the texture is smooth. Comes in brown and black. Some of well known MUA in Indonesia even use this and can't live without it. I personally love the texture of the eyebrow pencil but the color didn't match my eyes and my hair (dark brown on eyes and very very black for hair).

Graftobian HD Palette (Swatch)

Hola, so i got a big gig on May and i decided to put the whole range of HD make up on her face. And for the complexion i decided to get me Graftobian, read so many good reviews on them. Plus they got a tester pack (customized on every order), and they got a palette, quite affordable right?

After a long search finally i found a friend that has the palette in Neutral 1, i don't have to wait for long time to get it. Sadly for my client, the shade not really fit, i got to ordered another palette.
and if you want to sell me your preloved Graftobian palette in Cool 1 , and Warm 1, i would love to adopt them. Thank you pretties.

Okay, so my first impression of this foundation is, this is no good for dry skin type. You have put extra creamy moisturizer before putting them on. The texture apparently is not as creamy as i though, kinda sheer, and yeah it is buildable, but i like super textured and creamy foundation (personal taste).
With good primer, i used benefit it stay for 5 hours and i didn't notice any oily thingy on my clients T-Zone. But on me (combination and acne prone), i have to set it with setting powder to make it last.
And for the shade, they got names on it, so it quite confusing, but after you got used to it, doesn't really matter.

Review of Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation

Have you read this? Top 10 : Best Foundation a very good article from makeeupgeek.com
And i got two out of ten from that list, which is Revlon ColorStay and Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation.

You all know how crazy i am when it come to foundation right? I keep searching and searching for what my skin really loves, but yeah it's seem like a never ending search. Like finding a parking spot on a mall on WEEKEND >.<

But with this award winning foundation? Can we simply say that my search is over?

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation
courtesy of lancome-usa.com, i love the website, quite informative.
Since i didn't get a full size, i can't give you the ingredients information, but i think you can google-d it :)

Let's talk about price first, like i always say spend every cash you have to get a better complexion products. So this isn't really matter, we can always cheat on decorative products yes?
The price is vary depends on where you get it approx $44, of course it will get more expensive if i ordered it online due to the shipping.
I got mine on the share jar from FD friend cost me around $10 in 5 ml jar. Perfect for trial and traveling.

After finishing it, about 8-10 times usage, yes 5ml jar can be used many times, beside you don't need much on foundation, if you wear too much the rest of foundation will get cakey because it didn't have the place to stay on your face, less is more nowadays.
Note : 5 ml jar can be used let's say 8 times, means 30 ml can be used for approx. 48 times.
If the price is $44 : 48 times = $ 0,92 per usage, quite reasonable yes? LOL

With 8 years of research here's what they claim this foundation can do :
Oil Free, Transfer Free, Non comedogenic, Tested on sensitive skin, Blendable, Gives Fresh Texture, Flaws Pores and any imperfection will disapear, Gives Velvety Finish no powdery effect.

Here's my conclusion

What i LOVE

  • Has SPF 15, sun protection :D
  • Checked on the  Velvety Finish no powdery effect, Transfer Free, Blendable, Gives Fresh Texture.
I didn't use any powder nor primer only bronzer and highlighter, this picture approx 3 hour of using, and no shine whatsoever on my T-Zone, but i wore this a lot on Air conditioned Room and cold weather, so on humid weather i think you have to use primer before apply this foundation.
  • Shade Bisque 7 N quite match my skintone, and they have huge range of shade choice.

What i don't fancy so much :

  • Price-y but on it defense for 30 ml i think it probably will last for 4-6 months if use daily.
  • Cover Flaws,Acne Scars, imperfection? Check on it yourself!

You can still see the acne scar, on my cheek, i have to use concealer or pat some more foundation to cover it up. And didn't hide flakyness on my lips area due to chemical peeling.

  • After 6-8 hours of usage, if i touch my T-Zone,i can feel a light of oil, not too much, so i think this is still bearable.

I know, seems like i defend this foundation a lot, simply just it matches my skintone, don't hate me girls. At lease i gives you a different point of view haha...

Would i buy this in full size?
Nope i would love to buy Lancome Teint Miracle because it has shade Bisque 8N which i think would matches my skintone BEST because on Bisque 7N Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H i still have to bronze it up.

First Impression of Cameleon Blusher Palette

I got this at sasa.com Cost me approx $18 (around IDR 170-ish) include shipping to my house.
Here the link you can see more preview from this palette. The original price was $13.50 quite cheap aite?

I was skeptical about this palette, but i wanna broaden my blush color collection and since i got the coral-ey color from Amuse Blush Palette i thought this will be nice addition. Turns out it's beyond expectation from the packaging, and size. Size does matter, LOL >.<

Since this is just a first impression, i just pat a bit the slightest color to my cheek yesterday on this post, and loving the result i can't wait to share it to you my fantabulous. Review will do later, after i'm using this all.

I'll let the pictures tells you the story.

What i like and dislike, SO FAR

Like
  • Lots of color for such price (10 colors)
  • Pigmented - only one swipe already gives such pretty color + Not too Powdery
  • The push to open button on the packaging, makes it looks elegant (expensive)
Dislike
  • Has a bit shimmer on it, so i don't think it suits the photography and wedding purposes like they claim in the packaging.
  • Endurance - i let water runs approx. one minute and when i swipe it, it's gone!
What do you think? Sorry for the pictures spammer :p

Swatch NYX black Label Lipstick

And when my friend drove me home earlier, she decided to hang out in my room for a while. And made quite a damage! She literally throw away anything from my traincase and played with it, doing swatch and yeah we had fun. She just being silly and the positive thing was i realize that i have this NYX lipstick that i never worn! Dooh.... it hide under the traincase covered with shimmering powder which i rarely wear.

So this is the late night narcism, we took pics and doing make up. I decided to practice what i learn from Kelas Dandan, and it was quite satisfaction.

Quick Post on Swatches

Yuhhuw.... i know, i haven't post anything about Haulage since forever. It's just i don't have time to upload back on the last few months and forgot what's new and not in my traincase. So i'm gonna swatches all up (not all in the same post of course hihihi) well i hope this swatches post can help you guys out before buying them. And if already have them, share with me please, what to love and what to hate about these. Every one got their own preferences right?

I'm NC 35, and sometimes NC 37 depends. I think this Milani is more a match to my skintone, beside i love the texture, staying power so-so, since my skin is a bit drying now, and the weather is always raining which made the sun didn't properly shine can't say much about the staying power yet.

Milani VS Naturactor

NYX and Elizabeth Arden

This Elizabeth Arden comes with a box, i think (CMIIW) it's a Red Door Set. Comes with gorgeous eye shadow and blush on palette, with a super cute packaging ( i gave it to my mom since i'm not into pastel color eye shadow), Exceptional lipstick, lipgloss, mascara, eye liner, lip liner. I don't know if it's a fake one or not, my friend gave it to me while he was on vacation to Malaysia, so.. please let me know if this is a conterfeit item :)

Milani Creme to Powder Foundation

Smooth Finish Milani Creme to Powder foundation is oil free in 07 Medium Beige, i got it from a fellow from FD.

"Just one simple step smotthes and evens out skin tone while covering imperfections. This lightweight cream glides on easily then transforms to a soft powder finish. Moisture-balance for all skin types. Feels fabuous on your skin. Fast results that last."

To use : Lightly brush sponge across make up, Stroke on evenly.

My quick review :
It did glides on easily, if you touch the surface of the foudation it's absorbs easily on your finger, that's why i thought it is best to use your finger or brush if needed. Don't use the sponges, the sponges will only absorb the foundation and give a very light coverage to your face therefore this foundation will be finished before you know it. Such a waste right?
I forgot to apply my moisturizer before, but turns out it didn't cause me any problem. You know when you use foundation and forgot to use moisturizer the foundation looks so uneven on your face? That didn't happen to me. It did moisturize your face.
Review on the oil control will have to wait, because on this post i just use it for like one hour then wipe it out. Just for a quick swatch for my beloved readers. Will try this for a week and we'll see how it goes, will post every single picture using this foundation, promise.
This is maybe the product that i will use everyday, because the coverage is light. If you want a medium or full coverage you have to set it with loose powder and TWC after, otherwise, just another light foundation. Heavier than tinted moisturizer tho'.

Swatches is on my face, what do you think? I thought it's a bit white on my face.
Click this picture, it's a Gif file

Face : Milani Creme to Powder in Medium Beige 07, Marcks loose powder in creme, ELF all over stick in Toffee (contouring)
Eyes : Aubeau e/s base, Urban Decay in Flash (purple), Elizabeth Arden Black eyeliner pencil, Maybelline mascara
Cheek : Everyday Mineral blush - pink color (don't know the shade, i got it from FD, share from friend)
Lips : The Body Shop lipstick (nude)

Additional pics, just for fun :p

Eyebrow Story - My favourite

Did you ever get pissed because you have to redo you eyebrow after few hours of using?
Just because you have bang, sometimes the bang swipe away your eyebrow and make it look un-even.
I get that, a lot! While i was using my Viva Eyebrow Pencil. I did use Viva for several years tho'. Don't get me wrong, i love the texture. It is easy to draw, the texture is so soft wont't hurt your skin, and it is so easy to blend.Well you can always get more coverage with adding matching color of eyeshadow after Viva to make it more last, but too much work. I like to get my eyebrow done, quick and easy. Also with Viva the color is a bit orange-y and red-dish so it didn't match my black eyebrow.

After searching ang lots of watching, i came up with this 4 Eyebrow Pencil that was my favourite. Guess what? It's still afordable, remember you don't have to spend lots of money for decorative product to save up :)

Here is the champion, ladies.
L : With flash R : Without Flash

From L to R, Inez eyebrown pencil in dark brown approx $3 (IDR 23.000), NYX eyebrow pencil -  chocolate (price may vary in different shop), Lyra Eyebrow Pencil in brown approx $1 (IDR 8.000), Lyra Eyebrow Pencil in Black aprox. $1 (IDR 8.000)

The swatches

With Flash
No Flash

Texture :

Inez : The hardest one, it's quite difficult to draw with, you have to keep it sharp to make it easier
NYX : Creamy and so easy to draw with, but sometimes it's tricky, it make a thick line, and you have to carefully draw it with thin strokes
Lyra : My favourite, texture so smooth and easy to draw with

Blendable :

Inez : Easy
NYX : Easy
Lyra : Easy

Endurance :

They pretty much the same, from morning till night, i never touch up my eyebrow while using them

The only problem with them are the color, because i have a black hair and black eyebrow, sometimes if i put them on light strokes the color didn't match. But with practise, they end up fine.

What's your favourite eyebrow pencil, ladies?

Eyes : Maybelline concealer as base, Etude gel liner black for lid, Mirabella e/s palette (highlighter, brow bone, maybelline mascara
Cheek : Amuse blush palette

Swatch Benefit Feelin Cheeky's

I got this from Purplerebel's lapak on FD. She probably the most patience seller on planet earth :D

Well, i know this is not very budgeted. But for next year, my blog will post maybe lots of make up. Will try to do it very low budget tho'
Some people asked, why has to be on budget, because not everyone (including me) can afford to spend millions on make up. So all the pretty ladies with the "tight" budget deserve to have fun also with make up, agree?

This Benefit is so tiny, and i got it for less than $25 (IDR 250.000) include shipping to my house. With that price we can get 3 product at once, Posie Tint (poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek stain), High Beam (luminescent complexion enhancher), Benetint (rose-tinted lip & cheek stain).

For my taste this is too sparkling, i'm not a big fan of glowy make up, but this will be used for my client. So i had to buy it... To complete my collection.

The closer pic of swatch, once on hand without flash
Posietint - Highbeam - Benetint

Oopsie, the pic was rotated :(
After blend on hand with no flash

L-R : Benetint - High Beam - Posietint
Quick humble review :

From all three the ewh part is Benetint, the texture is not creamy whatsoever, it just pure rose color liquid. Me not likey. Kinda hard to use as lipstick, lipgloss maybe. But not a big disappoinment when applied as blush, it gives a nice touch of color, although it might work best on you that has NC 20-30 tho'.

LA COLORS Glittering Starlet Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow, like shoes... who can't get enough of it?
This is my first trial on buying glitter eyeshadow (because sometimes my clients asked for glittery thingy for party) and so far i not love nor hate this product.

LA COLORS Glittering Starlet Eyeshadow comes in 8 different palette, each palette was named not numbered, they're Audrey, Elizabeth, Maryin, Ginger, Bette, Jean, Claudette, Ingrid.
I got 2 palette of this series, Bette and Claudette. Bette is a nice summer color and Claudette is a bit "cold" tones in dark grey-green-red-black-orange. Too bad, Claudette was having an accident on the delivery, she cracked and fall into pieces and dust T-T. So i'm not gonna be able to use them.

But don't worry Bette is doing fine, and here she is..

on my bare hand, not using any primer or base
Picture captured by Canon iXus 150 with flash and no flash (AWB,Macro) setting.

On to review, well... not much to say since this is not their best seller. I've watch many beauty guru's that recommend LA Colors Baked Eyeshadow instead, and that's on my next wish list >.<

Pro's
Glittery (exactly like the name)
Not chalky and powdery
Staying power is awesome (i used aubeau eye shadow base with this palette)
Cheap (10 colors for $2.75, of course i pay more to get it to my door step, i lived in another side of the world)

Con's
The glitter fall out dude! Which is a big turn off, i have to be extra careful when using this (lots of loose powder before applying and an amazing fan brush to clean the fall out) which according to me it's TIME CONSUMING.
Too much for everyday wear, glitter stuff makes your face looks oily in humid area, trust me :)
