Brushes That I Regret Buying

For those who in love with YouTube beauty guru's Michelle Phan will obviously know this brush set, Essence of Beauty. She uses it a lot for her FOTD, and i couldn't resist the temptation to get me one, and decided to get me the travel size, because i don't have any small brushes (except ecotools eyes edition) for travelling.

I got myself, both face and eyes edition of Essence of Beauty, you can check it here

But after 4-5 time using, i was seriously dissapointed with this brush. I seriously now hate it!
The price at CVS is not pretty expensive, even the cheap price couldn't cheer me up, huh.. now you see how much i hate it.

To be fair, on their defense, i didn't try the big one because i don't have it and currently owned the travel set only, maybe the bristle and hair is different, but honestly i'm skeptical >.<

Why i hate it?

1. The hair is so harsh, when i used it to apply my eyeshadow it hurt my eyes, like something was impaled my lid. And made my eyes teary, which means more difficult to apply eyeshadow or blending whatsoever.
2. It picked small amount of product, blush or eyeshadow and powder. The products somehow left in the pan, made me have to apply more and more products, which is time consuming and the products wasted.

The only thing i not hate nor love about this is the brushes that made from synthetic because it picked just enough product and give enough precision if i'm doing eyeliner or smudging the eyeliner under on my lower lash line. That's it!

See for yourself!

Essence of beauty compares to unbranded brush set.

What do you think? Anyone ever tried this before? I'd love to hear your experience...

10-15 Minutes To Go Look

I'm a lazy person when it comes to make up. I'm too lazy to apply so many products to my face. I would like to just put moisturizer, TWC, blush on, mascara, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, and lipgloss only. And when i got into one product it's so difficult for me to switch, therefore i used the same product over and over again. So i wouldn't bother to do 2011 favourite (unless anyone requested), but you guys already know, it's all mostly comes from Indonesian Brand.

And since i got a lot of "sudden" request of hang out, meeting, whatsoever, sometimes i got to do my face and get ready in short time. So i thought why not made a post about a quick make up. It's perfect to do when you are in a rush, or just late being somewhere, or early in the morning when you have to catch a bus to work.

I got inspired a lot by FOTD forum on FD, and looxperiment they both raving about white eyeliner. Uh huh.. since i didn't touch my beloved Inez white eyeliner pencil, why not??? Thanks is in order to both of them, they're amazing!!!!

Let's get started shall we?

I got a lot of product prepared, but ended up just using some of them, haha lazy me...  (Ended up for less than 10 products i believe, brush not included)

Face Section (approx 5 mins)
1 : LT PRO Cream Foundation - Yellow Orange, applied with finger and blend it with finger also.
2 : Covering the stress and tired look with Everyday Mineral - Purple, applied with index finger and blend it gently.
3 : Setting the foundation with Marck L/P in Creme, applied with ecotools brushes.

Eyes Section (approx. 3-5 mins)
1 :  NYX Jumbo Pencil in White as base, so my eyeliner gonna stand for hours. Decided not to use any eyeshadow on this look.
2 : Using Sari Ayu Duo Eyeliner and Mascara, line both my upper and lower lash. I like to use liquid eyeliner if i don't wanna touch up, because with the base and the texture, liquid tend to last longer than pencil eyeliner.
3 :  To brighten my eyes and make more drama to my eyes, i apply my beloved Inez White Eyeliner Pencil.

4 : Curl my lashes with ELF eyelash curler
5 : Applied mascara, it's best to applied mascara after curl your lashes. Because if you curl it after mascara, the mascara stain will left in your curler's head and tend to break you lashes, makes it fall down.
6 : With RedA translucent powder highlight my nose bridge, cupid bow, and brow bone. If you want to save time, it's better to highlight your face than to contour it.

Cheek and Lip section (approx 3-5 mins)
Using the same palette, the old packaging of Wardah Lip Palette, using the first left row - pink color for my lips, applied with LYRA 03 painting brush. I like this brush so much, it's made from synthetic and easy to clean also perfect to line and fill the lips. Also with it's price approx. $1 what's not to love?
On to cheek, applied the mark color with unbranded brush, and blend! My face looks ridiculous before blending LOL.

My lips got a bit chappy, so i added lipgloss afterward.

I got my digicam back, my friend fix it for me. Thanks bro!!! And praying for JNE to quickly deliver the package from Make Up Tool, so i can throw my giveaway soon.

Let me know what you think ladies, do you find this post helpful? Thank you for sticking with me, have a great day my fantabulous!!!

Short Review on Biore 2 in 1 Cleansing Wash and The Other Function Of It

This is a new range of cleanser of this brand that currently invaded in local drugstore and groceries, for you ladies that lives abroad probably you are won't find this stuff interesting. But here in Indonesia, we got very severe skincare and make up brands, so this is a very exciting thing to post. Sadly i forgot how much i get this product, because it bought it with other stuff also. But it was probably around IDR 25-35 k.

Already lots of reviews that claim this is a good product to rinse off your make up and clean your face in one step, i'm not gonna review this product for it real function this time. And i found it more interesting if i did a full review of it as "my new routine of cleansing my brushes". My usual routine on cleansing brushes, you can read it here

How did i end up with that idea, is when i was so in a rush and my foundation brush was dirty and i couldn't find my HG brush cleanser from Make Up Tool, and my eyes caught this product sitting nicely on my vanity drawer, i grab it and rinse my foundation brush with this. Well... well.. it gives a nice result, so i decided to share it with you ladies. I really hope you will find this tips helpful.

My current favourite brushes is on the way to getting a bath
Put about one tea spoon of this Biore 2 in 1 Cleansing Wash on each side of the transparent box -which was originally my snack :D-
Cleanse my brush on one side and rinse it with the other side of water, this is why i love this transparent box, i can clean and rinse my brushes on 2 in 1 way also.
sorry for the pic :D
I did this step repeatedly with all of the brushes, the separated water make sure i clean it and rinse off the excess of the dirt that may still there.

Can see the difference? Before and after and the second rinsing.
After cleansing and rinse all of the brushes, i refill the transparent box with distilled water again and do the final rinse. If there's no stain left then the brushes is good and ready for drying.
I really love this new way of cleaning my brushes, because it removes the dirt and the oil, some foundation give excess more sometimes it comes sort of oily. I might continue doing this, and will do other review on this cleanser as a face cleanser, wait it up dear ladies.

And thank you for keep reading. Love you a lot ^^

ELF $1 Eyeshadow Brushes

I've heard rumours and read reviews that say ELF is bad on their quality control, but yet again the prize is so cheap i couldn't resist the temptation to keep buying those brushes. Just to complete my collection.
Actually after using it, i have no complaint so far. Well to be fair, if we don't want end up having bad quality brushes go for MAC and Shu Uemura's brushes instead :D or for affordable dupe just check the Make Up Tool or Make Up Brush on Facebook. They are qualified seller for affordable and good brush for it's price.

Back to ELF, i got several brushes from their $1 line and Studio Line, but in this post i will review their $1 eyeshadow brushes, i got two of them and they come in different bristle and the length of the stick isn't at the same size, one is shorter.
The bristle is dense enough, but again for one brush and the other it's not on the same measure.. one is fat and the other one is a bit slanted.
the left one is a bit slanted and the right one is more dense
I have used both to apply my eyeshadow, it did the job well tho' and the only reason i didn't complaint was "I Got it on Pre-Order and took about one month to arrived also it's CHEAP".

How I Washed My Brushes and Sponge

WARNING :
It can be GROSS, but if you are curious how GROSS it's gonna be then please keep reading *evil grin*

I haven't washed my brushes for like er... almost one month already *i know i know....*

Usually i just washed my brushes and my sponge with drinking water (In Indonesia unless you install a water purifyer, it's impossible to drink tap water) and mixed it with hot water in 1 : 3 (1 hot and 3 drinking water,so you get a nice warm water) then i add baby shampoo. Yes, just that nothing else.

But i got this new method thanks to my FD friends (alphabetababy, nucky, and sheLLey for the tips) also a brush cleanser from make up tool shop i got a new routine to clean my brushes and sponge.

what you're gonna need
The brushes and sponge that you're gonna clean *DOOH...* the brush cleanser, tissue, big bowl with 1:3 (hot:cold) distilled waterfor rinse and cleansing. Brush Stand, this pink brush stand was my brushes storage, since i got the organizer, this stand usage is to place my beauty blender sponge. But today i kinda use it to place the washed brushes.
Ok i know, you must think what the hell that panty liners doing there? Keep reading :D

the cleanser, its MAGIC seriously. you can feel the oil comes out from your brushes. with one big bowl of water i just need a little amount of this cleanser. i measure it with it seal as you can see, just putting couple amount of that cleanser will do
first i tested the water with my lip brush. i  wiped it already before dipping it in to the water with baby wipes wet tissue to clean it.
i washed the brushes that i apply cream or liquid stuff first
my slanted gel eyeliner brushes - can you see the water turns black?
the water is kinda oily now, after i clean my foundie brush, my suggestion is clean your small brushes first because it will makes the water less oily when rather than when you clean your foundie brush first.
this is the final look of the water after i clean of all the brushes above (i didn't take pictures of me cleaning the brushes one by one, you guys probably can figure it out your own)
TADA... this is the purpose of the panty liner, look how clean the brushes now (the foundie brushes already look a bit brown when i bought it)
Why i used panty liners instead of tissue and cloth. IT DRY FASTER (thanks alphabetababy for the tips), it's kinda gross i know you probably don't wanna do it. But me... i'm a lazy person, it's kinda boring to wait all day to let the brush finally dry up. I used to use towel and put them all together and sleep on it, but as i said it took whole day to get dried (what i'm gonna use if i wanna apply my make up the next day?) the next day it still a little bit wet feeling but not really wet *i hoped you understand, forgive my bad english* and on the second thought, while the process of drying, bacteria can easily stick to the wet brushes and sponge, no?
BUT, if you don't wanna use panty liners you can change it to towel and paper towel.
for the small brushes i put them in tissue
and then roll them up (thanks nucky for the tips)
In this video (thanks sheLLey for the link) you can actually see cheapest way to dry your brushes rather than using brush guard  (this brush guard also can be found in make up tool shop if you lives in Indonesia. Coastal scents sell it, and many more brand that provides this if you live in US or UK). It already has explanation if you click the link.
this is how the final look how i drying it, i stick them to the brush stand (even drinking mug will do, whatever you prefer)

the second times of washing ( I AM NOT USING THE SAME WATER WHILE CLEANING MY BRUSHES)
Now you ladies know why i'm lazy haha.. because i separate the cleaning process of my brushes that i used with powder stuff, brushes that i used to apply cream products, and liquid or cream face brushes, and sponge. I was like has to go back and refill the water after that cleaning, go back to the kitchen to fill the water, and then clean again.... until the whole brushes and sponge already done.
if you think i'm done, WRONG (final rinse, until the water is really white and didn't have anymore stain them i'm good) -see below for explanation
After cleansing all brushes and sponge, i refill the water again (this time i got a jug with me, so i don't have to go back and forth to the kitchen -fyi, the kitchen is in first floor and my room is in second floor- tiring :D) this time only use drinking water, not adding hot water to RINSE all of the brushes and sponge. Re-do all over again, if the water keep white and didn't has more stain color from the brushes and sponge, then I'M DONE
this is how i fold it so the whole brushes were covered and dried faster
i separated the sponge
final drying process.. let's wait ^^
I hope you find this post useful, and please do share your own cleaning process, i'd be more than happy to try new method.
Thank You...
