Review - Egyptian Magic Cream

So what if Madonna, J.Lo, Kate Hudson, and tons of beauty bloggers and celebrities are wearing this Egyptian Magic Cream?

Is it just a good marketing campaign or is it as good as the positive word of mouth that we heard?

Ok first of all, let me introduce you to Egyptian Magic Cream (EMC).

What is EMC?
It is all purpose cream, for acne bites to eczema, psoriasis to break out skin, even some claim it's good to reduce acne scars.

Ingredients?
Made from natural ingredients which has been perfected from ancestor's legacy. They are Olive Oil, Bees wax, Honey, Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, Bee Propolis and they also claim that they added DIVINE LOVE to their ingredients. How sweet? :D

Texture?
First Impression and swatch, this similar to my Vaseline Petroleum Jelly, but of course they're totally different. From ingredients and smell it is different. The EMC has no scent at all. But the sticky texture is similar, if you don't have this EMC took your Petroleum Jelly, imagine that sticky stuff is on your face :D

Sounds like i'm not interested at all with this stuff? No, i'm not. I'm quite happy with this product, it's just sometimes people bought something just for the sake, "Oh... CELEBRITIES are using them", do you know how much products they put on their faces? Not to mention their expensive facial treatment, expensive creams, botox and photoshop! LOL!
Try to do a smart shopping girls, really. I heard so much about, people buying stuff just for the sake of that reason, and because of the cute packaging, or simply "If it is expensive, it is good" (especially when it comes to apparel). Not everything expensive is good, sometimes it's just the marketing campaign and pride.
Money can't buy taste everybody!

Now on to review, what i really think about this stuff?

If my face is on its best condition, i wouldn't bother for this stuff i would go for Kiehls or something like that, that available in my country. But now courtesy of my break out skin, and due to my aging, i think this is one of the best investment i do to my skin.

Texture if applied ( i applied this as night cream), your face will look oily and seems greasy and still oily if you touch it one hour later after applied, but it's actually the product working, i didn't feel any heat or nourishing effect whatsoever, but in the morning my face feel a bit supple. And it helps reduce the redness around my nose.
DON'T applied this too much, a little will do, applied it layer by layer because if you're using a lot of cream on your face, you know where'd it go? To your pillow.Beside our skin has it's limitation to absorb particular amount of cream.
I usually swatch and pat it on to my forehead, nose, cheek, and jawline, then i blend it.

If i used this EMC for bug bites, it didn't help at all, still feels itch, and the redness is not really gone!

Using this for 2 months or so now, i stopped about a week and put my new Gizi Supercream, and now start to using it again. My face feel a bit supple, but the neck area is still dry even though i already put it on my neck also for couple weeks. And as i read on Fashionesedaily.com (they have the thread about this EMC there) the acne scars is not really gone.

SO? This is a love and hate products for me.

Ah, the PRICE? Yeah i know, i won't forget it. It's suck we don't have the store here, we have to ordered it online, and some people do sell them on facebook, but some of them are suspected fake EMC, so i'm not gonna put a link. I'd recommend you to bought it online on their website.
$$$ : $24.80 (2oz jar) - $37.20 (4oz jar)
IDR (approx.) from 350 exclude shipping.

WARNING :

Although this product is made from natural ingredients, some people may allergic to bee's thingy (bees wax, honey, royal jelly, etc). So i suggest you guys to swatch it for couple hours on your hands, if it's ok, then you can use it on your face :)

Review of Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation

Have you read this? Top 10 : Best Foundation a very good article from makeeupgeek.com
And i got two out of ten from that list, which is Revlon ColorStay and Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation.

You all know how crazy i am when it come to foundation right? I keep searching and searching for what my skin really loves, but yeah it's seem like a never ending search. Like finding a parking spot on a mall on WEEKEND >.<

But with this award winning foundation? Can we simply say that my search is over?

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation
courtesy of lancome-usa.com, i love the website, quite informative.
Since i didn't get a full size, i can't give you the ingredients information, but i think you can google-d it :)

Let's talk about price first, like i always say spend every cash you have to get a better complexion products. So this isn't really matter, we can always cheat on decorative products yes?
The price is vary depends on where you get it approx $44, of course it will get more expensive if i ordered it online due to the shipping.
I got mine on the share jar from FD friend cost me around $10 in 5 ml jar. Perfect for trial and traveling.

After finishing it, about 8-10 times usage, yes 5ml jar can be used many times, beside you don't need much on foundation, if you wear too much the rest of foundation will get cakey because it didn't have the place to stay on your face, less is more nowadays.
Note : 5 ml jar can be used let's say 8 times, means 30 ml can be used for approx. 48 times.
If the price is $44 : 48 times = $ 0,92 per usage, quite reasonable yes? LOL

With 8 years of research here's what they claim this foundation can do :
Oil Free, Transfer Free, Non comedogenic, Tested on sensitive skin, Blendable, Gives Fresh Texture, Flaws Pores and any imperfection will disapear, Gives Velvety Finish no powdery effect.

Here's my conclusion

What i LOVE

  • Has SPF 15, sun protection :D
  • Checked on the  Velvety Finish no powdery effect, Transfer Free, Blendable, Gives Fresh Texture.
I didn't use any powder nor primer only bronzer and highlighter, this picture approx 3 hour of using, and no shine whatsoever on my T-Zone, but i wore this a lot on Air conditioned Room and cold weather, so on humid weather i think you have to use primer before apply this foundation.
  • Shade Bisque 7 N quite match my skintone, and they have huge range of shade choice.

What i don't fancy so much :

  • Price-y but on it defense for 30 ml i think it probably will last for 4-6 months if use daily.
  • Cover Flaws,Acne Scars, imperfection? Check on it yourself!

You can still see the acne scar, on my cheek, i have to use concealer or pat some more foundation to cover it up. And didn't hide flakyness on my lips area due to chemical peeling.

  • After 6-8 hours of usage, if i touch my T-Zone,i can feel a light of oil, not too much, so i think this is still bearable.

I know, seems like i defend this foundation a lot, simply just it matches my skintone, don't hate me girls. At lease i gives you a different point of view haha...

Would i buy this in full size?
Nope i would love to buy Lancome Teint Miracle because it has shade Bisque 8N which i think would matches my skintone BEST because on Bisque 7N Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H i still have to bronze it up.

Me and My Weekender Beauty Pouch

This is just a short post, warming up for the next upcoming post.

- Review of Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation - Bisque 7 N

- Haulage (Night Gown, H&M Bustier, 5 Tops, Pants, Wedges) Big Damage >.<

- Beauty Event From Revlon, Sneak Peak of their upcoming PhotoReady series that gonna launch mid year
- Beauty Class from @endi_feng

Now, back to topic. I wanna do this post, quite a long time already. But didn't got the chance (mostly forgot) to share this with you my dearest. We all love to travel, Yes? Do you got that problem, where you got too much stuff going on in your luggage, and end up with no SPACE at all for the haulage? :p I did, until i find the tricks (thanks to Youtube and fellow blogger and magazines) to minimize the items.

I'm the most laziest person i think when it comes to organizing stuff, you all saw my vanity right? Huh.. I don't even have time to re-arrange that after the last post. But when it comes to traveling, i seriously hate to bring lots of stuff. It's heavy and time consuming.

I prefer to take my time to organizing stuff before traveling rather than busy picking up stuff and end up putting it to my luggage, and in the end, i don't even use that during my traveling time.

Here's what i usually do :

  • Make a List, from apparel to vanity, to accesories (oversized bags, clutch, heels, flats, flip flops)
  • Take my time to pick up the clothes, so i know what to wear daily, and i always bring extra top and pants. the only thing that i find essential and seriously take lots space is underwear, i brought a lot of underwear every time i travel.
  • I bought everything on travel size for the toiletries.
  • For the make up section, i love this tips, i saw it somewhere on Youtube by Youtube beauty gurus, sadly i forgot, but you got my gratitude dear :) I put the foundation in 5ml jar and bring all the tester pack with me, save so many spaces. She put the foundation to contact lenses cases, for one or two day travelling (weekender), quite a tips huh? :) Same things goes with skincare thingy.
  • Rolling the clothes instead of folding it will save so many spaces.
  • Since i have gastric, i usually bring snacks with me, and if i travel overseas, i brought some Indonesian food (Abon), also instant noodles, with me, and energy bars.

I'm going to show you guys, what did i have in my beauty pouch while i'm away for weekend and in short (less than 3 days) holiday.

Top : Liquid eyeliner, Mascara, Eyebrow Pencil, Black Pencil Eyeliner, NYX Jumbo Pencil, TWC and sponge, Bronzer
The two small jar is EDM color corrector and the next is Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation
Bottom : Eyelash Curler, Dual Blending Brush, Slanted Eyeshadow Brush (for my eyebrows), Highlighter.

This EDM Color Corrector in Lavender is my life saver, because we usually didn't get enough sleep while we're on vacation or away on weekend, simply because we're too excited, or simply because we're having so much work to do. I just pat it with my finger under my eyes, and the tired looking eyes is gone :)
You guys noticed i didn't have my eyeshadow quad with me right? Because i simply don't wear too much make up while i'm away (except, i have to be away for job or party or event and if so i only added eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow quad and false lashes and the false lashes glue)

See you soon pretties, lots of love.

First Impression of Cameleon Blusher Palette

I got this at sasa.com Cost me approx $18 (around IDR 170-ish) include shipping to my house.
Here the link you can see more preview from this palette. The original price was $13.50 quite cheap aite?

I was skeptical about this palette, but i wanna broaden my blush color collection and since i got the coral-ey color from Amuse Blush Palette i thought this will be nice addition. Turns out it's beyond expectation from the packaging, and size. Size does matter, LOL >.<

Since this is just a first impression, i just pat a bit the slightest color to my cheek yesterday on this post, and loving the result i can't wait to share it to you my fantabulous. Review will do later, after i'm using this all.

I'll let the pictures tells you the story.

What i like and dislike, SO FAR

Like
  • Lots of color for such price (10 colors)
  • Pigmented - only one swipe already gives such pretty color + Not too Powdery
  • The push to open button on the packaging, makes it looks elegant (expensive)
Dislike
  • Has a bit shimmer on it, so i don't think it suits the photography and wedding purposes like they claim in the packaging.
  • Endurance - i let water runs approx. one minute and when i swipe it, it's gone!
What do you think? Sorry for the pictures spammer :p

Brushes That I Regret Buying

For those who in love with YouTube beauty guru's Michelle Phan will obviously know this brush set, Essence of Beauty. She uses it a lot for her FOTD, and i couldn't resist the temptation to get me one, and decided to get me the travel size, because i don't have any small brushes (except ecotools eyes edition) for travelling.

I got myself, both face and eyes edition of Essence of Beauty, you can check it here

But after 4-5 time using, i was seriously dissapointed with this brush. I seriously now hate it!
The price at CVS is not pretty expensive, even the cheap price couldn't cheer me up, huh.. now you see how much i hate it.

To be fair, on their defense, i didn't try the big one because i don't have it and currently owned the travel set only, maybe the bristle and hair is different, but honestly i'm skeptical >.<

Why i hate it?

1. The hair is so harsh, when i used it to apply my eyeshadow it hurt my eyes, like something was impaled my lid. And made my eyes teary, which means more difficult to apply eyeshadow or blending whatsoever.
2. It picked small amount of product, blush or eyeshadow and powder. The products somehow left in the pan, made me have to apply more and more products, which is time consuming and the products wasted.

The only thing i not hate nor love about this is the brushes that made from synthetic because it picked just enough product and give enough precision if i'm doing eyeliner or smudging the eyeliner under on my lower lash line. That's it!

See for yourself!

Essence of beauty compares to unbranded brush set.

What do you think? Anyone ever tried this before? I'd love to hear your experience...

Contouring Part 2 (ROUNDED Face) For Dummies, Like Me

Part one is about nose, click me

Time for requested post, lots of people been asking this question, including me! How to make us look slimmer without exercise? Well, that's impossible, simply impossible, but we can always CHEAT haha..
If your face is round like i used to be while i were xx kgs you'll start thinking every way possible to make you or at least your face look thinner/slimmer.
The answer is contouring face, it only takes few minutes and you can have those high cheek bone which makes your face look longer and thinner.

I AM NOT AN EXPERT, i learned from mistakes and LOTS of mistakes, and honestly i still DID some mistakes till now :D but i can share from my experience, i hope this is helpful for those fantabulous who requested.

How to contouring (ROUNDED) face.

I used to have rounded face, but now since i was slimmer a bit, my face change to a heart shape. So this may not be 100% accurate, i just wanna share the "how to".

Let's just get started, before you get bored and browse something else ^^

First, what you're gonna need is the products, concealer or foundation stick will do or 2-3 shade of foundation (Er.. getting confused? Relax.. i'll explained it all). I used my unbranded concealer palette, because i'm simply lazy to open my train case, and it contains lots of color corrector so it's a time saver.
Concealer : the plus to contour with concealer palette is time saver, also you can correcting (dark spot, etc) at the same time.
Foundation stick : beside it is also a time saver it's more easy to use, you don't need anything to put that on your face, but make sure you clean it after using, you know health reason.
Foundation : Needed more than one shade, first the lighter shade to highlight your face, and the darker shade to contour (the area that needed to be contoured is the same, but the application is a bit tricky, you have to apply it several times to get the perfect look). Simply says that you need practice to expert this.

Second, you're gonna need, make up sponge or brushes or simply finger, whatever you prefer. And whatever you decide to use, make sure it is hygienic.

Third, your face? To be contoured haha.... (trying to make a joke here >.<)

How to

After moisturizer or primer, then :
1. Take the concealer or foundation stick an apply it to Temple of your face, Under your Cheek Bone, And Jaw Line, and Nose.
2. Use your tools (sponge, brushes, finger) to blend.
Temple of your face : Blend it to your hair line
Under your cheek bone : Blend it upwards
Jaw Line : Blend it down to neck area

I personally like to contour my face before foundation or powder unless i have to perform on stage, WHY? Because if i do it after foundation, it tend to be so harsh and not looking natural.
You can use foundation first, and contour later of course, and make it looks smoother with powder.

See the arrow, is the area that need the contouring. Just choose the shade 1-2 tone darker than your actual skin.
DON'T FORGET the under eye area and the inner corner area, why? Because it help to open the eyes, and make your face freshen.

WOMAN WIRED WEEKEND 25-26 FEBRUARI 2012

Woman Wired Weekend (WWW) was held by Fashionesedaily.com. It was celebrated periodically, this time they held is with celebration of their 5th anniversary. What an achievement in such "short" time but they're one of the biggest community dedicated for woman nationwide. I'm so proud to say that i am a groupie of this site.
Fashionesedaily.com where i hang out everyday learning and chit chat-ing about skin care, fashion, grooming, and make up, beside that they also have mommy section Mommiesdaily.com, also for celebrities and news they have popdaily.com.
Truly a best friend for a woman.

WWW is an event dedicated for woman, who wants to simply collaborate, empowered and inspired. Why? Because they have some seminars, how to understand better to manage your finance by Ligwina Hananto, to know better about our choice of carreer by Betty Alisjahbana, also just for us future mother and women to understand more about "our identity" by Najelaa Shihab. They are all super women, so femaledaily.com let us learned from the best.
They also had the famous "Market Plaza Day", you don't have to asked, everything you WANT and NEED was there, from heels, to dresses even make up. Don't believe me? Check out what you missed here
* link was taken from femaledaily.com *

Sadly i was only be able to attend the anniversary party at 25th, because i got sick on 26th and really couldn't manage to get out from bed. And missed out the meeting with fellow make up junkie on 26th, hiks..

But i had fun..
I met the fashionesedaily and crew, they were all fantastic with the choice of outfit wore that day. Also very friendly, i feel at home chit chat-ing with my dearest friends over food and drinks. Very homey ambiance.
Also the fellow make up junkie, and also make new friendship with the people i saw only at forum before.
I'm so happy that night.

Ah, i almost forgot, the contest i've been telling you about was held by fashionesedaily.com. Both Colorful Outfit and Colorful Make Up. And the reason why the dress code was colorful for the contest and the celebration of anniversary because the founder Mrs. Hanifah Ambadar and Mrs. Affi Assegaf with the rest of the crew feels that it's been fabulous 5 colorful years, couldn't agree more.

Check it out yourselves my dear fantabulous

The Winner For Outfit and Make up contest
First prize winners got themselves each a note book woow... Congrats Marcie (Outfit) and Sella (Make up)
The second and third winner didn't have to attend, but Endi Feng as the second place winner for Make up showed up that day (we were on a make up date, along with Shelley, Lumielle, Catra, Sella) yeaay...

I love her outfit and her nail art also, her effort for that day was fab. Say hi to one of my favourite person in Today's Outfit Forum, Kokoya.
The ambiance that day, the food was amazing, the crowd are very friendly, even though not everybody that registered show up but it made the situation more intimate, the goody bag (who doesn't love freebies? ;p)
Curious for my outfit that day? I'm happy and amazed both at the same time, and i have to tell you this. I was featured in their website, just found out yesterday. Thank you fashionesedaily.... (already added on the Featured label *blush*)
I'm so lookng forward for another gathering or events in the future, to keep in touch and sharing. I love to mingle and make new friends, so don't hesitate to invite me on your event fantabulous.
Much love...
